Burlesque dancer Saint Stella brings a forgotten star to the Edinburgh Fringe. Their show, ‘Louise, The Last Dance ’, looks at Louise Weber. Known in history as La Goulue, and once heralded as the Queen of Montmarte, she was put on a pedestal for the creation of the can-can and the face of the Moulin Rouge, before being torn down by male business interests.

In a fascinating discussion, we examine the treatment of female artists then and now, the stress on a bank account to fly to the Fringe for her art, and the emotion of bringing a historical figure to the stage.
