The Edinburgh Fringe Show 2026 – Guy Masterson Returns To The Fringe
Podcast: Play in new window | Download
As we count down towards the Edinburgh Fringe 2026, we’ll bring you weekly preview podcasts, looking not just at individual shows at the Fringe, but taking a wider look at working in the arts, the impact the Fringe can have, and its place in the wider world.
We start with Guy Masterson, an Edinburgh Fringe veteran of 32 years who has been involved in over 150 shows at the Fringe. For 2026, he’s working with five shows: The Tao of Lloyd, Ludwig: Unfinished Business, 11 and a Half Angry Men, Call Me Elizabeth, and Scaramouche Jones.
That’s our starting point in a wide-ranging conversation, including the importance of live theatre, why artists have to shoulder much of the risk, and why we all keep coming back to the Fringe.
